How do owners find me?

Owners search renters who are already checked, the same way you search listings. When one likes what they see, they invite you to apply. You do not have to chase them.

Do owners have to take my report?

Every owner on RentersLand does, because the check is built in. Outside RentersLand only a few states make a landlord accept a report you bring, so we do not promise that.

Is the report really mine?

Yes. Download the whole file any time and take it wherever you want.

What happens after 12 months?

You run the check again to stay verified. Your profile, your papers and your history all stay put.

Will this hurt my credit?

No. We pull it one time. Applying to more places here does not pull it again.

Do owners see my photo?

No. Owners search on what you need and what your check says. They do not browse faces.

Do owners decide, or do you?

Owners decide. We run the check and show them what it says. We never approve or deny anyone.

What if nothing near me is listed yet?

We are opening county by county, so some areas are thin right now. Your profile is ready the day a place opens near you, and while we are early we help our first renters find places by hand. Tell us what you are looking for and we go looking with you.

What if my check cannot be completed?

You get a full refund. If something in your file stops the check from running, we tell you what it was and refund you.
